What Are Porcelain Inlays and Onlays?
Porcelain onlays and porcelain inlays can fix gaps, chips, and stained teeth. They are one of Dr. Perlaza’s great smile makeover procedures. An inlay fills tooth damage made by cavities. An onlay replaces the cusp of a damaged tooth.
Instead of using metal or amalgam, our onlays and inlays are made with a beautiful porcelain that replicates the natural translucency and color of your natural teeth. If your teeth have been chipped or damaged in the past, onlays and inlays are a great procedure that restores your teeth, and makes them look more beautiful at the same time.
You will be able to confidently smile, and feel proud of your teeth again. Inlays and onlays can eliminate the discomfort you felt when you were dealing with a chipped or cracked tooth.
Whether you need an inlay to fix tooth damage done by cavities, or an onlay to completely replace the cusp of your damaged tooth, Dr. Perlaza can perform a simple procedure to get you a brighter, more beautiful, and complete smile.
- During your first visit, Dr. Perlaza will prep your teeth for the onlay or inlay. Inlays and onlays are both conservative procedures, and very little of your tooth will need to be shaved to make room for your inlay or onlay.
- Your perfect, beautiful, porcelain inlay or porcelain onlay will be crafted using a mold of your teeth. In the meantime, a temporary inlay or onlay will be placed.
- During your second visit, Dr. Perlaza will clean your teeth and place the permanent inlay or onlay to fix your gaps, chips, or discoloration.
- After your second visit, you will be able to enjoy your beautiful, full, smile.
