How Periodontal Gum Disease Treatment Works

Periodontal gum disease is a major cause of tooth loss.

• During your checkup, Dr. Perlaza or Dr Tabandeh will examine your gums for periodontal disease.
• If any signs of gum disease exist, X-rays will be taken to make a definitive diagnosis and determine the extent of the infection.
• When you return for your first periodontal treatment with Dr Perlaza or Dr. Tabandeh, you’ll receive a local anesthetic to eliminate any possible discomfort. A general anesthetic isn’t necessary.
• Dr. Perlaza or Dr. Tabandeh will treat one half of your mouth at each session... and you’ll probably feel good enough to go right back to work afterwards.
